Biography

I began writing for the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Kaleidoscope Newspaper and the Birmingham Times, contributing stories. I was also published in The Birmingham News and blogged for Urbanham.com. Serving as a community activist, I moderated events for the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, organized community empowerment workshops, voter registration campaigns and co-founded an annual concert to benefit local NAACP college chapters. I had the opportunity to host youth events for the SCLC as well. Just to name a few accolades that made me happy, I was named a Who's Who in Birmingham honoree in 2005, then listed again in 2008 and 2009, being noted for my activism in the city. I am also a Who's Who in Alabama honoree. In 2006, I was named a postgraduate honoree of Who's Who in American Colleges & Universities. In the landscape of entertainment--I have interviewed music legend Kirk Franklin, worked with MusicWorld Records CEO Mathew Knowles to feature artists as Le'Andria Johnson and also featured music legend Yolanda Adams, to name a few. During graduate school, I was a part of hip-hop television show productions while developing a Comcast TV pilot for "The Movement" radio show. I also had the opportunity to host and produce for the Rejoice! Television Network. I've been a voting member of the GRAMMY Recording Academy and worked on the production team of America's Got Talent, including commercial work. I later managed social media for the National Office of the NAACP's 13 platforms, including the Image Awards. I currently reside in Washington D.C., where I serve as Digital Editor of MyHoustonGOSPEL.com, MyBirminghamGOSPEL.com and work for an agency managing digital strategy for two major U.S. airports. • Best of 2023: The first Australian Aboriginal Liturgy

This group numbered more than one hundred and fifty adults, teenagers and a children’s choir.

• Living with the death of the referendum

They were not the majority, but they were a significant number of Australians and they included many First Nations people. They had invested their hope that the referendum would be the ‘yes’ of a new birth and the beginning of a new chapter in our country’s history.

• Our country is hurting

These simple words captured something of his feeling at the time, a feeling of anger and hurt at what he saw around him, what he had experienced and witnessed in life as an Aboriginal person. It was triggered by what he saw in America but it expressed what had been gradually building up within him. He wanted the world to hear his anger and pain but more than that. He wanted the world to hear his hope, much more than simply a protest.
