Biography

Since I took my first plane ride in 2011, I haven't been able to stop. In the decade since, I’ve managed to step foot in eight countries and several states across three continents. My lifelong passion for writing has led me to seek out a career that lets me be a nomad while still using my voice for things that matter. I graduated from Texas State University in August 2020 with a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication. While at Texas State I worked at KTSW 89.9, the university’s radio station, in the web content and social media departments. My time at Texas State and in student media allowed me to experience a significant amount of creative freedom, and has helped me build my resume, portfolio and confidence as a digital content creator and visual storyteller. While I have a deep love and appreciation for news writing and traditional media, my dream is to use my journalism degree in “unconventional” ways. I find that stories about travel and culture are just as important as the daily news grind. I strive to use my experiences to inspire others to keep a gloal mindset and step outside their comfort zone while seeking out important and diverse stories through a solutions journalism lens.
