According to a news release from the Salt Lake City police, dispatchers received a 911 call at about 12:33 a.m. near 171 W. 500 South, near the Comfort Inn Downtown, reporting a shooting. Officers arriving at the scene found two men with gunshot wounds, the news release said. Officers tried to treat the men and called for paramedics, but both men died at the scene.
