Further to the west severe storms have been ongoing, with several severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings in Iowa. These storms will continue to move east but will run into an environment with a little less instability, at least at the surface.

Morning lows fell into the upper 20s area wide with a little patchy frost noted right around sunrise. But with the sun-filled skies afternoon temperatures warmed into the upper 50s, with a few locations reaching the low 60s. Now, cloud cover has moved back in and will continue through the rest of the evening and overnight.
