Parkside Hills Park is one of three new community parks underway, along with Clear Skies Park and Smokey Hollow Park. The motion to help ease the financial burden of maintaining the exterior of the building passed at Tuesday's Heritage Permit Review subcommittee meeting. The motion made by Ancaster-Flamborough Coun. Craig Cassar will allow the Troy Women’s Institute to apply for funding under the Hamilton Heritage Conservation Grant Program.

  • Waterdown students experience 'life-changing' visit to Auschwitz

The former concentration camp is now the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, a place that preserves the painful reality of the Holocaust, in which 6 million Jews were killed in a mass genocide. “It was bone-chilling cold, and then when you walked into the camp, on the surface where these people walked, it was so incredibly depressing,” Brunson said.
