Senior Investigative Reporter, Injustice Watch

Chicago

Biography

Hello, My name is Carlos Ballesteros. I'm a senior investigative reporter at Injustice Watch, a nonprofit newsroom in Chicago focussed on exposing inequities and bad actors in the Cook County court system. Before joining Injustice Watch, I was a reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times where I covered immigration, education, housing, and politics. Before the Sun-Times, I was a breaking news reporter for Newsweek. I also interned at The Nation and In These Times magazines. As a native Chicagoan, I'm focussed on investigating how our criminal justice system impacts our most vulnerable residents.
