Biography
I am a culture critic, writer and communication researcher, an avid reader, and an ardent film, art and music enthusiast. I'm interested in the intersection of media, politics, and public policy and how communication influences attitudes towards race, gender and sexuality. I'm a contributor to the Black Love Matters essay anthology from Berkley (Feb 2022), Parasocial Politics: Audience Readings of Cultural Politics in Pop Culture (Rowman and Littlefield), and The Encyclopedia of Social Media and Politics (Sage/CQ Press). I have a Bachelors in English and American Literature from Harvard and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication Research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Media and Journalism. My concentration was on Political Communication, Public Opinion and Public Policy.
