Sundell was selected in the third round, 26th overall, by the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Draft Monday, April 14. She was one of just 15 players invited to attend the draft in person at ‘The Shed’ in New York City. She’s just the ninth Wildcat in program history to be selected in the draft and the 12th overall to join the league.

KU meet director Tim Byers, who’s in his third year organizing the event, joined K-Nation’s Caroline Soro ahead of the festivities. Born and raised in Lawrence, the Kansas Relays is an event Byers holds near and dear. He says there’s a record-breaking 5,600 athletes who have already signed up to compete, including high school and collegiate talent.
