Wallace’s SpeakEasy column titled “Surviving ‘The Hole’ in the Middle of Summer.” It was mostly about working at Morrison’s Restaurant on the bay in Beach Haven in 1978. Everything he said was so true. It was a wildly popular restaurant that sometimes served 1,000 meals a day, according to the cooks. I worked at Morrison’s from the age of 18 to 23, just a few years before L.J. Wallace did.
