There was plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures and an enthusiastic crowd of between 2,000 and 2,500 people who cheered on marchers from more than 65 groups and organizations. The parade recognized Joseph and Marguerite Danaher as Grand Marshalls. “It was amazing,” said Lindenhurst Village Mayor Mike Lavorata, noting that the sunshine and warm weather held up until the parade was over.

The plaque was installed at the PBA office in Brentwood. Following the ceremony, the families of the deceased joined PBA members and public officials at the association’s annual luncheon.
