By Cat Webb Verified| Calhoun Times Verified It’s been just over a year since lawsuits were levied at the City of Calhoun by landowners and a local environmental group over forever chemicals in the water. In January 2024, Moss Land Company and the Revocable Living Trust of William Darryl Edwards filed suit against the City of Calhoun and a host of companies who use forever chemicals, toxic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), in their manufacturing processes.
By Cat Webb Verified| Calhoun Times Verified I used to commute to Calhoun from Chattanooga a handful of times each week, an hour each way. I’d always get there at 9 o’clock, maybe 9:30, open up the newsroom. Blake would come in around the same time, and flick the light switch a hundred times to get them to all turn on instead of just two or three. Sometimes, it’d be raining and the office would smell funny. ‘Funny’ being a kind word. kAm|:<6 H@F=5 >2<6 :E :? =2E6C[ >2J36 6=6G6? @C D@[ 2=H2JD E96 8FJ E@ DE2J FA ‘E:= EH@ :?
