I was born in Paris and raised in Istanbul, where I currently live. I have a degree in economics, from the University of Istanbul. My interest in naval issues began by taking photos of warships visiting Istanbul when I was still in high school. My first photo was published in Jane’s Fighting Ships in 1991. Since then my photos and articles have been published in various naval publications and books both Turkish and foreign. Periodicals, where my articles or photos have been published, are Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri Dergisi, Warships IFR, Jane's Defence Weekly, Janes Defence and Intelligence Review, Defence Turkey, Shephard Media.
