Been staring at the evening news and poring through newspapers since 5th Grade. Always aced the weekly current events tests. Knew the names of every cabinet secretary -- of course. Majored in Journalism and PoliSci at UNM, also activism. Lost vision in right eye (thrown rock) covering an anti-VietNam march for the university newspaper, 2 days after Kent State. Wrote for the Albuquerque Journal and NM Independent, moved,, LA Weekly, now two weekly columns in the Santa Monica Daily Press. CURIOUS CITY is the political one, on Wed. Local corruption keeps me very busy but I write about the national scene too. Have also done radio and TV.
