Biography

Charles Beckwith (@fashiontechguru) is an expert in fashion and media technology, but he would rather be painting. Coming to fashion from film and television in 2005, he worked for several years as an editorial photographer in New York and Milan. In 2008 he founded the avant-garde independent fashion magazine modaCYCLE, which spawned a German-language European edition in 2010. Since 2014 he has hosted the weekly deep dive interview series American Fashion Podcast, which has been downloaded more than 2 million times, and Harper’s Bazaar called “the fashion podcast for true fashion nerds.” He is a Co-Founder and the Director of Innovation at the business-focused podcast network MouthMedia Network, which provides internal and external communication services for medium and large companies, as well as unique business development opportunities with curated audiences at super-niche live events. Charles recently authored a series of pointedly defining articles about blockchain technology and how it will affect the fashion industry for publications such as Business of Fashion and Payments and Cards Magazine. He also serves as Director of Communications for the non-profit watchdog group Save The Garment Center. But seriously, he would rather be off painting in the woods somewhere.
