By Charmain Brackett| Augusta Good News@ When the inaugural Off-Broad Street Play Festival opened for submissions of short plays, they were flooded with scripts. “We didn’t put a cap on it. We had almost 800 submissions,” said Jonathan Cook of Gather By the Ghost Light, who is partnering with Le Chat Noir for the Second Annual Off-Broad Street Play Festival that opens Friday for two weekends. The shows will be at 8 p.m. April 18-19 and April 24-26. For tickets, go here.
By Charmain Brackett| Augusta Good News@ The Academy of Richmond County’s girls’ soccer team beat two-time state champion Aquinas 7-1 on Aquinas’s home field on April 15. It marked Coach Kevin Scheyer’s 200th career win with the squad that has a 14-2 overall record and 13-2 Region 4-AAA this season. The Lady Musketeers are in second place in the region behind undefeated Harlem. Scheyer has been at Richmond Academy since 2003.
