Biography

Chauncey Ross began a media career in 1976 while attending Point Park College, Pittsburgh, His years as a radio music show host -- OK, he was a DJ -- took him throughout western Pennsylvania and to Johnstown, where he joined the news staff at WJNL in July 1985. He took over as morning news anchor/reporter/writer at WDAD/WQMU in Indiana, Pa., in November 1986 and annually won awards for spot news coverage, newscasts and cooperation with Associated Press. Chauncey was invited to join the staff at The Indiana (Pa.) Gazette in May 2000 as a staff reporter and writer, and added duties as daily web editor in February 2007. His tenure as a print and online journalist also has been recognized with annual honors from multiple professional associations.

  • Homer City council seeks to fill vacant seat

Black, who was elected in November 2023, has taken new residence outside the borough, officials announced Tuesday at council’s monthly business meeting. His appointed replacement will serve until the end of this year. The position will be put up for election Nov.
