Chelsea Monae Williams is the Asst. News Director for KTVE/FOX 14. Chelsea is also an award-winning writer. A story she wrote for the Gramblinite (Grambling State University’s official newspaper) titled: “Mr. Excitement” encourages players to take advantage of SWAC football shift to spring, placed 3rd for Best Sports Story in a category 16 newspaper for the Louisiana Press Association Awards 2020. Born and raised in Ouachita Parish, she is excited to begin her news career right here in the ArkLaMiss. Chelsea graduated from Grambling State University in April of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a bachelor’s in English. At Grambling State University, Chelsea was a reporter for the school’s official newspaper, the Gramblinite and earned her spot as Editor-in-Chief her senior year. Chelsea was also an intern for local radio station, 100.1 The Beat in Monroe in the summer of 2020; where she explored the radio broadcasting world directly under well-known radio personality, “Grave Digga”. Her interest in journalism sparked at a young age, as she often watched newscasts throughout the day, every day with her grandmother, until she reached school age. When she was 10 years old, her mother registered her into a summer broadcasting camp, which was instrumental in solidifying her decision in pursuing a career in journalism. Chelsea enjoys dancing, traveling, watching movies, reading, writing and spending time with her family. She is from Calhoun, Louisiana and happy to begin her journalism career right here where she grew up and looks forward to bringing stories that matter to you all over the ArkLaMiss.

Stewart Smith with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office confirms the charges stem from an incident(s) that allegedly occurred in 2022.
