  • Man accused of shooting Danville Police officer waives hearing, case moves to grand jury

(WSET) — A man accused of shooting a Danville Police Officer waived his rights to a preliminary hearing, allowing the case to proceed directly to a grand jury without the Commonwealth presenting any evidence. Authorities said the incident occurred in February in the parking lot of a hotel on Riverside Drive. According to Danville Police, Officer Kayla Robinson reportedly noticed suspect Lucas Degier in a car linked to a hit-and-run.
