For nearly 40 years, it's been the same Burns route. “I forded four creeks. Most of the route was either gravel or dirt,” said Tidwell about the early days in the mid-80s. Now, those creeks have bridges and the roads are all paved. Tidwell, 73, was recently honored for his longevity behind the wheel. He was inducted into the state’s School Bus Driver Hall of Fame.
