Friends and family gathered for a short ceremony where poems were read. Members from the VFW Post 305 Honor Guard also handed out certificates of service to commemorate the residents' past military service. The Wall of Honor is featured in the living center's main hallway, and it spotlights residents who have served with a photo, a short story, their rank and branch of service.

At Altoona Family Restaurant, the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office and other area law enforcement got together and raised money for their "Kids 'N Cops" shopping event by taking orders and bussing tables. Money donated will be used to take at-risk children shopping for essential winter clothing, school items, and toys.
