Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montaño and Chief Financial Officer Romy Samuel reported to councilmembers on Thursday (4/17) that the city needed to reorient it’s spending due to several factors, including the winding down of American Rescue Plan funding and reduced tax revenue.

The commission ruled Monday that Cantrell improperly infringed on the police department’s promotions process last September, specifically to benefit demoted Lt. Sabrina Richardson.
