It hides the warm parts of yourself. You can't change your past, your trauma, or your mistakes. You can't bring back those you've lost. You can try to inject, eat, sex, snort, smoke, or drink your problems away. But when that temporary pleasure wears off, you're still left with yourself, the brokenness, the trauma.

I made a list of things I wanted God to fix and offered them daily - no answer. So, what was the point? God had a plan and would do what He wanted, regardless of my prayers. To some extent, that's true. God is working out His plan, and He does everything for His glory. But in my spiritual desert, I realized prayer is not for God. Prayer is for me.
