Blotto’s music video for the song I Wanna Be a Lifeguard was played on the first day of MTV. That helped launch success with radio popularity, tour dates and record sales. The band, however, didn’t fit into a specific music genre and so that level of early success was not sustainable. The documentary Hello! My Name is Blotto – The Movie! will premiere Saturday, April 12 at Cohoes Music Hall.
