By Chris Pugh Verified| Fort Bragg Advocate-News Verified Nelson is a sweet young dog who came to us as a stray. He’s very affectionate once he gets to know you, although he can be shy and nervous at first. He loves walks and walks well on the leash, although he sometimes likes to pull because the world is too exciting to take it slow. He’s been getting along with our shelter cats as well as other dogs, although we haven’t tried him with any larger-breed dogs yet.

The paper mill, a major employer in the region, shaped the community’s identity.
