When the YMCA set out to create the "Pedal for the Pool" event, organization leaders were aiming for $5,000 for the day, but on Monday, supporters shattered the goal. In an effort to raise awareness and raise some money for the future St. Joseph Area Aquatic Center, YMCA CEO Tammy Killin said they were just looking to get the word out about the ongoing project and didn't expect raise almost $29,000 from the one-day event.
