Biography

Chris covers world affairs, business and urban design for Monocle in print and on its podcasts. He has written for the magazine since 2011, from reporting on frozen conflicts in the Caucasus to covering the US military’s pivot to the Pacific in Hawaii. Along the way, Chris has interviewed heads of state and CEOs of some of the world’s biggest firms. He leads on many of Monocle’s editorial and commercial projects, representing the brand globally, and in 2022, co-produced its first North American conference in Dallas, Texas. Previously a news editor and producer for the BBC, Chris has also written longform pieces for The Guardian, The Times of London, The Spectator and Artforum, among others, and began his career working as a cultural journalist in the Middle East.
