Biography
I am an author and a 30+ year veteran of newsrooms and classrooms. I was a TV news reporter, anchor, host, writer and producer in markets including Charleston/Huntington, WV; Charlotte, NC; Columbus and Cleveland, OH; and Syracuse, NY. I also reported for and hosted a nationally syndicated health program, “Life Choices with Erie Chapman.” My print articles have been published in a variety of newspapers and magazines including the Cleveland Plain Dealer (cleveland.com), Pillars magazine, Family Times magazine, and Northeast Dairy magazine. In the 2000s, I taught journalism classes at Syracuse University and also served as web content producer and manager for the Newhouse School’s official website – http://newhouse.syr.edu . I have written three books. The first two are historical fiction novels about my ancestors’ lives before, during and after the Civil War in western Virginia/West Virginia. Panther Mountain: Caroline’s Story and Panther Mountain: Lydia’s Story are available on amazon.com and other online bookstores.
