  • Threatened Duluth treasures demand lawmakers' urgency

By Chuck Frederick Verified| Duluth News Tribune Verified Some of Duluth’s most-prized treasures — old maps, newspaper clippings, historic photos, original lift bridge and Glensheen blueprints, and more — are stored deep on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth, in an annex building that’s one of the school’s oldest and that’s hidden behind the Kathryn A. Martin Library. And they’re deteriorating. Nothing has been lost yet or has even been really damaged.

I continue to find it hard to pull for Kansas City’s professional football team, and I won’t be cheering for them to win Super Bowl LIX this weekend. Not because they’ve won so much recently or even because I suspect the refs give them all the calls (which I don’t, though plenty of others do).
