O’Sullivan, a young jockey tipped as a rising star in the sport, died in the early hours of February 16, just five days shy of his 25th birthday. A minute’s applause was held for the family in honour of the Cork jockey before the first race today, while the infamous Cheltenham roar rose up in his memory.
