The photo captured six US Marines hoisting the American flag on Mount Suribachi. Rosenthal’s photo earned him a Pulitzer and became one of the most enduring images of the war that inspired a memorial statue at the United States Marine Corps War Memorial.

Ilhan Omar defended her vote against the bipartisan infrastructure bill, the asset seizure for Ukraine reconstruction and proposals to ban the social media platform Tik Tok. “The asset seizure is a bill that is illegal for us to have. It’s really unfortunate because we still have Ukrainian constituents who come up to us and ask why it hasn’t happened,” Omar said. It was because it wasn’t a thing that can be done.
