He has been looking after the care and repair of the neighbourhood’s shoes and leather goods since 2004, when he took over from the notorious Savva, famous, as I recall, for piles of discarded shoes all over the shop, and whiskey drinking sessions with favoured locals! Darren has sewing machines that he inherited from his predecessor that are still in daily use.
