  • OSU international student gets 14-day pause on visa revocation

    By Cody Mann Verified| Albany Democrat-Herald Verified The attorneys for an Oregon State University international student whose visa was revoked were able to convince a federal judge in Eugene to put a 14-day pause on the termination of his status. The decision also applies to a Jane Doe enrolled at the University of Oregon. Aaron Ortega Gonzalez, an international OSU Ph.D. student living in Corvallis, is one of 13 international students at OSU who saw their visas revoked earlier this month.

  • Albany man pleads to strangling pregnant girlfriend

    By Cody Mann Verified| Corvallis Gazette-Times Verified A 35-year-old Albany man pleaded no contest in Linn County court to domestic violence charges involving his 25-year-old pregnant girlfriend. The victim told police he pushed her down, then ripped a baby gate out of the wall and used it to strangle her. Jeramy Michael Kisler, 35, was charged with felony counts of fourth-degree assault and strangulation in December. Last week, he pleaded no contest to both charges.
