Biography

Colleen O’Dea is an award-winning, long-time journalist based in New Jersey. She started her career at The Record of Hackensack, worked in United Press International's Trenton bureau and then spent most of her career at the Daily Record of Morris County. O’Dea left the paper in February 2011 and joined NJ Spotlight later that year. She is currently a data and general assignment reporter with the online news site focused on state issues and analysis. In addition to freelance writing, O'Dea has done public relations work for a non-profit organization and worked on several projects undertaken by Rutgers University's Office of Continuing Professional Education. O'Dea served as the New Jersey reporter for the Center for Public Integrity’s first State Integrity Investigation and has won numerous state and national journalism awards.

According to the latest data from the judiciary, there are 50 openings, fewer than the record high of 75 in spring of 2022, but still roughly double the number judiciary officials have said they can tolerate without lengthy disruptions in casework.

  • Rep. Tom Kean holds short phone meeting with constituents

Tom Kean Jr. held a 35-minute telephone meeting with constituents Wednesday night, his first this session, just days after Democrats held two in-person events in his district that drew hundreds wanting to talk about the state of the federal government. In his second term in Congress, Kean has yet to hold an in-person town hall. A press release from his office announcing the phone-in event stated that he held 10 such events during the last congressional session.
