Biography
I have been a hockey fan my entire life and played growing up, which included three years of Jr. A. I started working for a few casual blogging sites years ago, but have progressed and turned it into a more regular thing since. I currently write for four websites in The Hockey Writers, PuckProse, NHLTradeTalk, and Markerzone. For The Hockey Writers, I am a credentialed writer for the Calgary Flames. I have also been able to do some work for many more credible sites, most notably DobberProspects. I am also a part of two podcasts, Flames Faceoff and Oilers Overtime, which you can listen to on many different platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube.
All things hockey
pretty nothing but I focus on those above..

By Colton Pankiw| Daily Hive Calgary Verified Apr 19 2025, 8:31 pmSergei Belski/Imagn ImagesThere was a significant portion of Calgary Flames fans who were hoping to see this team struggle immensely in 2024-25. As Flames fans are all too aware, this team has been stuck in somewhat of a middling ground for a long period of time now, where they aren’t good enough to be considered a Stanley Cup contender but also haven’t been bad enough to rebuild through the draft.
By Colton Pankiw| Daily Hive Calgary Verified Apr 19 2025, 7:02 pmSergei Belski/Imagn ImagesIt wasn’t the best of seasons for Calgary Flames defenceman Rasmus Andersson, but his struggles weren’t due to a lack of effort. Andersson, who is one of the longest-serving members of this Flames team, has been relied on heavily for several seasons as a top-four defenceman. Playing on an inexperienced blue line in 2024-25 meant even more minutes, which the 28-year-old seemed to struggle with at times, particularly late in the season.
By Colton Pankiw| Daily Hive Calgary Verified For the third-straight season, the Calgary Flames failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unlike the prior two seasons, however, missing this year is being viewed in an entirely different lense. Over those past two seasons, the organization had a goal of competing for a Stanley Cup. Realizing they weren’t a good enough team to do so, they opted for somewhat of a rebuild approach under GM Craig Conroy, with many envisioning they’d finish near the bottom of the standings in 2024-25.
