She celebrates Russian Orthodox Easter and would make these every year for her table. You can eat them, but for her she made them solely as decoration and that’s what I do too. You can play around with the natural dyes and people have commented that they use turmeric and red cabbage. But she taught me how to make them using onion skins as I do here.

For years, I have yearned to do it at someone’s house and to cook. When the family has done something for 20+ years, that’s just how it’s done. But as people are getting older… it’s become more appropriate to do it at a house. Everyone is more comfortable. So this year, I finally get to cook for Easter.
