Biography
For more than 15 years I have dedicated my career to crafting content that connects with audiences and inspires action. In early 2022, after more than a decade, I resigned from PR/Communications to return to my journalism roots and pursue a career as an independent writer and editor. As an extension, Sweet New Roots LLC was founded in September 2022. Serving as a writer, editor and client relationship manager across an array of industries, I have partnered with public corporations and private sector organizations to help tell their stories. I have held in-house/staff roles, worked for several leading global public relations firms, and served clients as an independent consultant. My work on behalf of clients has appeared in numerous publications, including AARP, Austin-American Statesman, Austin Medical Times, Chief Learning Officer, D Magazine, Dallas Medical Journal, Enterprise Networking Magazine, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Forbes, Houston Chronicle, and USA Today. Prior to entering corporate communications, I worked in journalism both in the U.S. and internationally, enabling me to bring a unique perspective and versatility to storytelling. My bylines have appeared in print and online media outlets that include Asian Geographic, Fort Worth, Texas magazine and The Korea Times, among others. I have also served as copy editor for several published books. I earned a Bachelor of Science in news-editorial journalism from Texas Christian University’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication and a Master of Business Administration (MBA concentration: business communication) from Dallas Baptist University. I also hold a certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University in partnership with the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies
