What was supposed to be a pretty uneventful month, saw two very rare sights in our sky. Around October 10th, we saw the Northern Lights in the region for the 3rd time this year. Very rare, but also a treat to see. We got in some photos from our nighttime ABC24 Weather Watchers showing the colors in our sky. A bit later in the month we had a comet visit us in the evening sky.

Let's talk about what we are expecting and how you can view this event from your own house. Over the past week, there has been multiple solar events including flares and coronal mass ejections. These have been pointed toward the Earth and have created some minor events here including some northern lights in near the Great Lakes and Canadian border.
