Biography
Not many people know what they want as a career at age 15, but I was fortunate to discover my passion for writing and journalism early on and have had the pleasure of exploring my field for the past ten years in various roles from staff writer to managing editor. It started by joining the newspaper staff at my high school and by senior year I had become the founder and editor in chief of the school’s first literary magazine. I even attended Journalism camp every summer. During college at Austin Peay State University I was Creative Director of the Monocle Yearbook and was the social media intern for the PR & Marketing Office. I also did a lot of freelance writing for The Odyssey Online during this time and became their top contributor. After college I found a home with South Shore Media and became the managing editor for two magazines, Southern Travel & Lifestyles and Florida Travel & Lifestyles Magazine and have been enjoying writing about traveling in the southern states since 2019. I am constantly looking for more opportunities to create stories, get experience, and meet individuals in my field who have that burning passion for this line of work like I do.

By Crysta Cox| southerntravelusa.com@ By Crysta Cox It’s spring again — a time of rebirth as the natural world wakes up and revives after going dormant in the winter months. In spring, our days start getting longer, flowers begin to bloom, and warmer weather allows us to spend more time enjoying the outdoors. Weather you’re heading out for some alone time and fresh air or you’re taking the whole family with you, there’s an abundance of ways to enjoy those sweet southern blooms.
By Crysta Cox| Odyssey@ Whether you're an avid traveler or a "go to a new place maybe once a year" type person doesn't matter once you set foot in Covington, Georgia. This town is full of southern charm and intriguing history that can leave any guest feeling like they don't want to leave. I recently got to have this experience when my fiancé offered me the chance at a road trip I'd been wanting to take.
