Biography

I'm a 30-year veteran of the news industry, most of it spent at the Chicago Tribune where I was a national/foreign desk copy editor and a Page 1 news editor, among other jobs. I was an original staff member of RedEye, an innovative millennial news brand within the Tribune’s portfolio. There I was features editor before becoming deputy digital editor and production editor. I launched RedEye’s Show Patrol TV column, and since leaving daily newspapers founded my own site, TV Show Patrol, where I still write about television. I currently write for such outlets as Emmy Magazine and the Chicago Sun-Times, and work as a contract editor, social media advisor and writer for various corporate and marketing clients. Name a job in journalism and I've probably done it at one time or another. I'm also fun at a party or dinner.
