Biography

Hi there! I'm Daisy Carter. I'm attending the University of Alaska Anchorage pursuing a Bachelor's in Journalism and Public Communications with a minor in Creative Writing. I work as a peer mentor with Alaska Teen Media Institute (ATMI). I've been at ATMI since I was a sophomore in high school and I have learned so much about broadcast journalism through my work there. I started working for my university newspaper, The Northernlight, in the fall of 2020 as a news reporter. I covered news and had a movie review column. I like covering stories that I feel are important such as social justice and gun violence. I'm a big advocate for making sure youth voices are heard and are part of the conversation about their future.
