By Dan MacLeod Verified| Bangor Daily News Verified Eastern Maine Community College awarded degrees to 332 students during its 57th commencement Saturday in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center. The commencement marked the first graduating year for students receiving their associate degree under the recent state program that covers tuition for two years. The college also awarded 123 certificates to students. Marilou Ranta, whose Monson restaurant The Quarry won a James Beard award last year, was the keynote speaker.

The story stated that a body found in Caribou on Tuesday had been identified as missing Washburn man Erik Foote and cited Maine State Police as the source. No public statement has been made about the identification of the body by state police as of Thursday morning. When we saw the error we reached out immediately to the Foote family to apologize.

The Bangor Daily News (BDN) is a daily newspaper based in Bangor, Maine, with a history dating back to its founding on June 18, 1889.
