Loperfido has been tearing it up in the minor leagues in Sugar Land with 13 home runs, 27 RBI with 5 stolen bases so far this season in 25 games. Loperfido will be playing first base, even though he has primarily been in the outfield. The Duke prospect said that he was informed of his promotion during a road trip in El Paso.
