By Freida Frisaro Verified, Terry Spencer, Daniel Kozin Verified| The Independent Verified Forecasters warned Floridians to prepare for additional flash flooding after a tropical disturbance dumped as much as 20 inches (50 centimetres) of rainfall in the southern parts of the state. Worsening conditions were expected on Friday as a disorganised storm system was pushing across Florida from the Gulf of Mexico at roughly the same time as the early June start of hurricane season.

  • Numbers drawn for $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot but it is unknown if there is a winner

By Daniel Kozin Verified, Mark Vancleave Verified| Post Register Verified FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (AP) — The numbers were drawn Monday night for a $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot, but it should be a couple hours before it’s clear if there is a winner. The winning numbers announced were: 12, 26, 27, 43, 47 and the Powerball 5. It takes some time to determine if anyone won the jackpot because lotteries around the country must report if there is a big winner in their states.
