Simon was stretchered off the pitch in Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mali in Marrakech on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old collided with the Malian goalkeeper in the first half. The former KAA Gent player was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Nantes have now confirmed Simon suffered a serious injury which will keep him out for the rest of the 2023/24 season
