Biography
Daniela Brik is a journalist with a Master’s degree in International Relations from FLACSO Ecuador, specializing in security and conflict, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Hebrew, and with a working knowledge of Arabic, she has built a career in international journalism, focusing on conflict zones and global affairs. She began her career at the International Desk of Agencia EFE in Madrid before transitioning to her role as a correspondent in Jerusalem for that agency, as well as a regional contributor for Notimex. Covering significant events in Israel and Palestine, she reported on the Second Intifada, the burial of Yasser Arafat, and Israeli military operations. Her expertise also includes reporting on the 2006 Lebanon war. From 2017 to 2022, she served as a senior correspondent for Agencia EFE in Ecuador, producing multimedia content on social protests, elections, and environmental issues in the Amazon and Galápagos regions. She also coordinated editorial teams and trained new journalists. She has taken part in numerous professional development courses, including “Religion, Conflict, and Peace” (Harvard edX, 2023), “The Power of People: Strategic Dynamics of Nonviolent Resistance” (International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, 2023), sharpening her skills in conflict reporting and mediation. Currently, she contributes to El Debate in Spain, focusing on international issues, conflict, and religious topics.
