Jiménez, a Miami native, a rising journalist and a 2024 graduate of American University’s College of Communication where she studied journalism and international studies with a concentration in Global Economics and Development. In addition to her campus paper, she held reporting internships at CNBC and NBC4/Telemundo44 in Washington D.C., and her 2023 investigation into administrative failings in the State Department’s “diversity visa” program was published by Mother Jones magazine and Center for Public Integrity. While at AU, she was the president of the school’s chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists; a reporting fellow at the Investigative Reporting Workshop, an investigative reporting lab; and received the Ron Sutton Visual Literacy Award and the American News Women's Club Scholarship. The proud daughter of first generation Colombian immigrants, Jiménez was raised in Hialeah, Florida.
