Biography

Danielle Parenteau Decker is the managing editor of the Richmond (Calif.) Pulse. Previously, she was a Metpro fellow and then a staff multiplatform editor on the features and A.M. copy desks at the Los Angeles Times. She has interned as a copy editor at the Sacramento Bee and as a reporter at the San Francisco Bay Guardian, among other places. She has also been a copy editor in the New York Times Student Journalism Institute. Danielle completed her bachelor's degree in print and online journalism with a minor in philosophy and religion at San Francisco State University. She earned her master's degree from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
