Daily Bruin

The Daily Bruin is UCLA's premier student-run newspaper, established in 1919. Originally named the Cub Californian, it became the UCLA Daily Bruin in 1948. The newspaper is published five days a week, making it the only five-day paper serving a University of California campus. It operates independently and provides comprehensive coverage of campus events, trends, and important topics, making it a vital source of news for students, faculty, and the broader Westwood community. The Daily Bruin features various editorial sections, including news, sports, arts, and opinion, all managed by UCLA students. In addition to its print edition, it has a strong online presence and publishes Prime, a quarterly arts, culture, and lifestyle magazine. The newspaper also runs Bruinwalk.com, a review site where students can rate and review professors and apartments. With a dedicated staff of over 500 students, the Daily Bruin is recognized as one of the top college newspapers in America and has a significant impact on the UCLA community.
