Biography

I'm a self-taught artist, writer, journalist and Fulbright scholar. With a BFA in creative writing from the University of Maine at Farmington and a master's in journalism with certificates in public relations and narrative journalism from the University of North Texas, I like to immerse myself in long-form stories and get to know the human faces behind the topics on which I report. I've always felt like I can never know enough about anything so I channel that energy into my reporting and live vicariously through the stories assigned to me. Formerly the editor in chief of my undergraduate campus paper, the Farmington Flyer, I wrote about everything from Title IX, to administrative policy, to environmental issues and performing arts. Now further along in my freelance career, I still keep up with a variety of beats to satisfy my curiosity. As an alumna of the Fulbright Berlin Capital Program, I've taken an interest in stories with an international scope that can bridge the local to the global.
