The Times Colonist is a daily newspaper based in Victoria, British Columbia, and serves as the main news source for Vancouver Island’s capital region. Established on September 2, 1980, through the merger of the Victoria Daily Times and the Daily Colonist, it is the oldest daily newspaper in Western Canada. The paper has a rich history, covering significant regional events and evolving alongside Victoria’s development.
